The road so far

Tuesday, May 20, 2014
I'm afraid. I fear for my life, and I fear for my feelings even more. I just don't think I'm quite ready for season 9 finale. Season 9 of what? Supernatural, obviously! I'm just not mentally prepared for it, OK?!
My nails are, though!

As my friend put it- Instead of going literal and doing something like angel wings, the mark of Cain or the anti-possession tattoo, I went for- and I'm quoting her- "the deep motive of the show". And she's absolutely right! This show has always been about family, and the two genetically blessed brothers on a road trip, saving people and hunting things, you know, the family business.
Other than that, on my thumb I have yet another lame excuse of writing. "The road so far" is the title that along with "carry on my wayward son" in the background, will bring every fan to tears, thinking about the boy's history.

The base for Dean's baby are water decals* from born pretty store, you can get here. This work like any water decals out there, but since you are going for a full nail here, application can be a bit tricky. I'll suggest that you don't mind you cuticles in the process, and just clean them up later with Acetone or nail polish remover. Don't forget to use top coat on top of it, so it will stay put.

My base color for all of my nails is Wow 350. On my thumb I wrote using Wow 393. The 67' Chavy Impala was drawn using the two polishes above, as well as Life 269 and Chic Diamonds. If you noticed- I added a red dot on the map, using Life strawberry. Guess where the red dot is, just guess!

I'm off to find some salt, because I'm all alone at home and I heard the guitar playing. And I might use it on popcorn while the episode? That might be wise...

I'm loving my outfit

Thursday, April 10, 2014
A while ago my brother celebrated his Bar-Mitchva, and I just had to match my nails to my outfit! Because it matched it so perfectly, I had to take a photo with the outfit itself, and I also have a two-hands picture, so I have quite a few extra pictures today!

Simple geometric stamping to match my earrings and necklace :)

My base color on all nails is Laline Kahal galens, and I stamped both designs from Bundle Monster BM-423 plate, using Wow 393 as my black and Ga-de Vintage silver as, well, my silver.

Bloody round ruffian

Thursday, March 6, 2014
I think I'm getting way too creative with naming my manicure lately... But what can I say? An artist's mind is an artist's mind.
Anyhoo, I had this vision in mind of a red ruffian over my dark silver base. Then I kept thinking it will be too dull, so I thought about adding stamping in an accent nail. But then, I remembered my self-promise to do more full manicures. So I did just that.

And I gotta say- my stamping skills are really improving! This time, my one and only problem was placing, with the print being a bit to small for most of my nails, and WAY to small for my wide thumb. I actually used the ruffian in my favor, and kept the spaces next to my cuticle, so the ruffian will cover it up.

My base color is Ga-de Vintage silver, and both the stamping and the ruffian were done using Ga-de Hypnotic red. The stamping plate I used is Bundle Monster BM-206.

Robot necklace manicure

Monday, February 24, 2014
A while back, I couldn't hold the urge, and bought a very cute robot necklace from Forever 21. While wearing it one day, I took it off and played with it out of boredom. The chain kept twisting around my nails, and that I decided that I HAVE to do a manicure inspired by this necklace!

Since that fateful day, the idea was sketched in my little ideas notebook, and I finally got around to do it! I drew the robot by hand, and added the very fitting stamp to the rest of my nails to finish of this design.

My black base is Ga-de Black swan. I used Ga-de Vintage silver and Bundle Monster BM-012 for the stamping, and Chic Diamonds for the robot.

Sochi Olympic Games- Curling nails

Monday, February 10, 2014
If you're following my Facebook page, you already know that the 1st of February was a horrible day. It was the day I was forced to cut down my nails and make them into nubs. After screaming at the top of my lungs, I set my self down and made a new manicure, because I couldn't look at my naked nubs for another second. Now, don't get me wrong- there are many people who can really rock their nubs, but unfortunately, my hands just look too big like that. Doesn't work for me.

So although the Winter Olympics started a few days ago, only now I'm posting my Olympic nails, inspired by my favorite winter game- Curling. In Curling there's a target painted on the ice floor, and it is played in two groups. The point of the game is to get your group's rocks as close to the target eyeball, but also making sure the other team's rocks as far as possible.
The Curling competitions only started today, so this manicure comes out just in time!

So here is a quick breakdown of the whole nail art:
I believe my pointer needs no introducing, but anyhow, it's says "Sochi 2014", to state which Olympic games we are talking about. My middle finger shows this year's Curling icon, with a man throwing the rock. Which leads me to my ring finger, on which I've drawn the rock itself, on the white background of the ice, on it's way to reach the target- which is exactly what I have on my pinky.
On my thumb I have the well known Olympic rings. Don't ask me why the logo is placed so low, it just turned that way during the course of things.
All was free handed but the icon's head, in which I used a dotting tool.

And we're down to the colors break down. The white base color on all of my nails is Chic White flag. The light blue on my thumb, pointer and middle finger is Chic Bora bora. The red is Life strawberry, and the dark blue that I've paired with it on my pinky is Life 332. The dark-silver shade of the rock is Ga-de Vintage silver. The black is Ga-de black swan, the green in Life 327, and the yellow is Ga-de Mellow yellow.

A challenge gone wrong

Thursday, January 23, 2014
This is a story about a girl with a poor English. The girl decide×’ to join The Lacquer Legion challenge. The girl also read the month theme "Reinvention" as "Renovation". Yep. That's right. The girl spend a fair share of her time planning a 'house renovation' themed manicure. And here's when the truth comes out- the girl above is me.
I ended up quiet liking the manicure I had in mind, so even thought I figured out my mistake before making it, I decided to go for it anyway! There's no harm in making an extra nail art, right?

The color of the wall is Chic White flag, and the fresh coat of paint was made using the perfect minty green-  Life 279. I drew the paint roller using Chic Diamonds [silver], Ga-de Black swan [black], and the mixture of Ga-de Black swan and Life 279.

31DC2013: Day 22, inspired by a song

Sunday, September 22, 2013
When I've heard "song inspired" I imidiatly wanted to go with the one and only, that makes me go nuts in lipsing, Britney Spears. Now, I wanted to go with some old school classic such as 'Baby one more time', but ended up going for the song 'Holg it against me', because it's video has alot of sceance I could take Insperation of.

So here is the full on manicure, and from here I'm gonna show you each finger with a screen shot of the insperation for it.

Starting with the pinky and the thumb, where I took inspiration from the splattered dress. The white here is Chic white flag. Blue is Chic bora bora, green is Chic crazy in love, purple is Life 328 and orange is Life 299. I mixed those 4 colors with some nail polish remover [Acetone does not work!] and blow the brush to get paint on my nails.

On to the ring finger I have Britney lips. I must say, I did a horrible job capturing it, but oh well.
Black is Chic black fog, Pink is a mix of Laka 73 and Chic white flag, white is again Chic white flag and red is Life strawberry.

My middle finger represent Britney's CRAZY neon necklace, which I would love to get my hand on. No idea what will go with it tho.
Nude is Chic sand, Silver is Chic diamonds, and yellow is Ga-de california sun.

My pointer is an abstract of the fight between Britney's black self and Britney's red self. I uses saran warp to create this effect. Red is Life strawberry and black is Chic black fog.

31DC2013: Day 14, floral nails

Saturday, September 14, 2013
This day is the one I was afraid of. I do NOT like floral print. I don't know why, but I guess it just looks old for me. I mean, why would you wear you grandma couch as a dress?
Any how, apparently I was right. Even after finding a pattern I wanted to do, I failed doing it.

I ended up being really frustrated, and went with something simple. Very simple. And I managed to ruin.
I drew the flowers themselves with the basic polish brush, and added a dot on top of it. I like only two of the flowers- one on my ring finger and one on my thumb, both of them are the ones closest to the cuticle.

The base color is Astor 7, the flowers are Ga-de tangerine, and the silver dots are Chic diamond.

31DC2013: Day 12, stipes nails

Thursday, September 12, 2013
Oh my, oh my. The nail-art goddess sure does not give me an easy life!
Stripes. Easy. This time I even had an idea. Wanted to use my texture polish for the stripes. So I applied glue [as a peel off base coat] because it's glittery. Applied base color, and striping tape, and then the texture polish. Peeled off the striping tape- TADA! No polish left on the nail. So I free hand the stripes with a brush.

I'll just say- the colors are as close as I could get them to the reality. But the base color shade is so much more beautiful in real life, that's it's a bummer I couldn't manage to.
So as I said, I draw the lines by hand, and added my awesome-camera-shy holographic glequins in stripes as well. My thumb got full two coats of the texture polish, AND a stripe of glequins.

The base color is Life 327, the texture polish is Chic sugar baby 5, and I got the glequing in a small nail art supply store.

31DC2013: Day 8, metallic nails

Sunday, September 8, 2013
Today nails are very simple actually. The thing is- I have only 2 real metallic polishes! Shame on me!

I did a simple gradient and that's it. I was planing on doing skittle nails, and adding different patterns using the blue polish, but decided to keep things simple.

The colors I used are Chic diamonds and Chic peacock.
