Dark and twisted

Tuesday, April 1, 2014
I wanted to go with "Dark glitter gradiant" at first, but Grey's Anatomy was on, and the minute I said 'dark', there was no coming back as to this manicure name! So this one if for you Meredith!

While this nail art may be the most simple thing ever, I think that the bold contrast between the glitter and the background is what makes it so unique, and got me many compliments while wearing it.

My base color is Ga-de Black swan, and the glitter I used is Sally Hansen Lady Luck.

Full glitter placing manicure

Thursday, February 20, 2014
Sparkles! Sparkles all around! Do you see that amazing reflection of the light, viewed on all the colors of the rainbow?
That's right. You do. Because what I have for you today is holographic glitters, and tons of them!
I've finally got my hands on gold holographic qlequins, and decided that this time, instead of an accent nail, I'll go with a complete manicure filled with glitter!

After completing this manicure, I couldn't help but keep on playing with my fingers up against the light, and just stare at it while it sparkles. And yet, as much as I love it, it was a bit too much for me. I guess I'll keep with accent nails and non-full glitter placing for a while.
The two photos below are showing the manicure in direct light.

My base color is P2 Glory.

My first attempt at jelly sandwich manicure

Thursday, January 30, 2014
I've seen many sandwich manicures during my time in the nail art community. I was drawn to the stubble (yet still noticeable) appearance of the glitter on those manicure. And yet, I haven't got the chance to try it out myself. I don't own any 'real' jellies, so that was a little obstacle (putting it mildly).

I decided t hat I still want to try it, so I had to make a small shortcut in order for this to work. Instead of using a jelly nail polish, I grabbed one of my (very) cheap polishes, that I could never get to be fully opaque. I used the holographic glitter, and ended up amazed by the beauty of it through the red jelly.
The photos below are my best attempt of catching the holographic effect.

My base color is Ga-de Hot passion, which is a very dark and deep red. The glitter here is H&M Jo is in the house, and on top of it I used GK 741.
In conclusion, I believe that is using the right shades for this technique, I can create myself some sort of a dupe for Zoya Payton and Dream (that I've got in my wishlist ;) ).

31DC2013: Day 17, Glitter nails

Wednesday, September 18, 2013
Glitters, glitters all around!
For this challange I had the idea in mind. I wanted to recreate The Nailasaurus diamond jubilee diamond.
But after I did my manicure, I found out that it's connected to her in an another way. As it turned out, we both been using the same polish in today's challange. And to top all that up, I used another polish that I bought once after keep seeing it on her blog!

Any how, I went with a skittlette mani, and used glitters in each single nail. Three kinds of glitter. I think that's enough for the glitter day, don't you think?

The glitter on my pinky is Sally Hansen [gem crush] lady luck, while the base color for all the other nails is Life blueberries. I used glequins, and the black lines were done with Chic black fog. The glitter on my thumb is H&M jo is in the house.
